The Leadership Team

You’ll be joining a small but experienced founding team:

• Dhilon Solanki (CEO) – leading Story Locker with a deep passion for storytelling, creativity and building meaningful consumer products.

• Ian Dibb (Head of Growth) – a second-time founder who previously raised over £1.7m for his previous SaaS business in a relevant sector. Ian brings proven expertise in growth, fundraising and scaling startups and will be working alongside Dhilon to drive Story Locker to success.

As Founding Engineer, you’ll complete this trio – taking full ownership of our technology vision and delivery.

The Role

We’re seeking a Founding Engineer to own the technical vision and execution from day one. You will design and deliver our mobile-first SaaS product, integrate cutting-edge AI and scale the platform for millions of users. This is not a maintenance role – it’s a chance to define the architecture, shape the engineering culture and directly influence the business strategy alongside Dhilon and Ian.

Key Responsibilities

• Build & Launch

  • Architect, design, and deliver our mobile app (iOS + Android) and SaaS platform.

  • Ensure the platform is robust, scalable and secure from the start.

• Hands-on Development

  • Write production-quality code in the early stages.

  • Establish engineering standards, workflows and delivery processes.

• AI & Innovation

  • Explore, evaluate, and integrate leading AI tools and platforms.

  • Use technology to create a differentiated, world-class user experience.

• Team & Culture

  • Work side by side with the CEO and Head of Growth to align technology with the company vision.

  • Build and lead an engineering team that thrives on innovation, accountability and collaboration.

• Investor & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Represent the technical roadmap to investors and partners.

  • Build confidence in our ability to deliver, scale and lead in the market.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience building and launching consumer mobile apps (iOS + Android).

• Strong SaaS and full-stack development expertise.

• Entrepreneurial mindset – thrives in a fast-moving, early-stage environment.

• Passionate about AI and up-to-date on leading platforms and trends.

• Ideally, we are looking for a UK-based person, as the role requires close collaboration with the founding team. However, for the right candidate, we are open to a fully remote working arrangement.

• Ready to step in as a true co-founder and long-term partner, not just an employee.
